How It Started

How It Started

Barnzey Water Sports started the way most great things do, from a genuine obsession. What began as one rider chasing wind and waves on the Central Coast grew into a mission to share that feeling with as many people as possible.

We saw too many people standing on the shore watching, thinking water sports were too hard, too expensive, or too intimidating to try. So we made it simple: turn up, grab the gear, and let a qualified instructor show you the ropes. No barrier to entry. No ego. Just good vibes and great conditions.

Today, we run wingfoiling, kiteboarding, and hydrofoil lessons every single day across the Central Coast and in Lake Macquarie, two of the best water sport locations in NSW.

Meet Your Instructors

Alex

Alex isn’t your average instructor. A CrossFit Games athlete and once named Australia’s Fittest Teenager, he brings the same dedication and drive to every lesson on the water. Alex is also a sponsored team rider with event wins at Sydney Big Air, Merimbula Surf Classic and National Wave Titles. With over 8 years of kiteboarding, wingfoiling and foil experience as an elite level rider he knows how to break down technique in a way that clicks, whether you’ve never stood on a board or you’re chasing your next progression milestone.

Trained by Kiteboarding Australia as an Instructor you can be assured that Alex is not only one of the best local riders but an experienced certified instructor.

Expect step-by-step guidance, a safety-first approach, and the kind of energy that makes you want to get back out there before you’ve even dried off.

Instructor (1)

Jamie is a lifelong ocean lover who’s been scuba diving since her teens, she discovered kiteboarding as an adult and never looked back, going on to become an accredited instructor with over five years of kiteboarding and foiling experience. As an ambassador for SheKites NSW and the host of annual retreats to her home country of the Philippines, Jamie brings passion, purpose, and community to everything she does on the water.

With a background in coaching aerial silks and lyra, she has a knack for breaking down complex movements into simple, achievable steps. Working in the industry, she’s also highly knowledgeable about different gear and can help riders understand what equipment will suit their level and goals. Expect clear, step-by-step guidance, a safety-first approach, and the kind of calm confidence that helps you feel comfortable first, so you can truly thrive on the water.

What We're About

Anyone can do this

You don't need to be an athlete, a surfer, or "outdoorsy." You just need to be up for giving it a go. We'll handle the rest.

Safety comes first

Every lesson starts with a proper briefing, the right equipment, and an instructor who knows these waters. We never cut corners.

Progression should be fun

We keep things relaxed, encouraging and stoke-filled. No pressure, no yelling, no clipboard coaching. Just clear guidance and genuine excitement when you nail it.

The gear shouldn't stop you.

We provide everything: boards, kites, wings, foils, wetsuits, harnesses, helmets. You don't need to spend thousands to find out if you love it.

Where We Teach

We’re lucky enough to operate across two of NSW’s best water sport locations.
